Compatible Laser Printer Toner Cartridges
Question: What is a compatible Toner?
Definition of Terms Relative to Fax and Toner Cartridges
OEM Cartridges
OEM is the acronym for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Common Manufacturers are Hewlett Packard®, (HP®), Brother®, Epson®, Sharp®, Lexmark®, Panasonic®, Okidata®, (Oki®) and many others. These Products are made by your printer manufacturer and are sold as brand new cartridges. However, they are commonly made with both new and recycled parts. This is absolutely a good practice, and recycles those parts which have a very long life. One of the commonly recycled parts of a toner cartridge is the Shell, or Plastic Case.
New Compatible Cartridges
New compatible cartridges are rebuilt by a manufacturer other than your printer OEM, and are made with new and recycled parts. Often the only parts reused are the outside shells. The Compatibles we sell are produced and tested to meet or exceed the OEM specifications for Print Quality and Print Life. Essentially there is no difference in the New OEM and our New Compatible cartridges. It is against Federal Law for the Equipment Manufacturer to require you to use their Cartridges, or to provide a lower level of support or service if you do use Compatible Cartridges.
