OEM Cartridges

OEM is the acronym for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Common Manufacturers are Hewlett Packard®, (HP®), Brother®, Epson®, Sharp®, Lexmark®, Panasonic®, Okidata®, (Oki®) and many others. These Products are made by your fax manufacturer and are sold as brand new fax cartridges. However, they are often made with both new and recycled parts. This is absolutely a good practice, and recycles those parts which have a very long life. One of the commonly recycled parts of a toner cartridge is the Shell, or Plastic Case. This part is made to recycle, and use several times--both the OEM and aftermarket suppliers sell Refill Kits that contain new Film Ribbons and Thermal Transfer Ribbons for Thermal Imaging Plain Paper Fax Machines and the printing of Thermal Transfer Labels.

New Compatible Fax Cartridges

New compatible cartridges are built by a manufacturer other than your printer OEM, and are made with new and recycled parts. Often no recycled parts are used, and the only parts ever reused are the outside shells. The Compatibles we sell are produced and tested to meet or exceed the OEM specifications for Print Quality and Print Life. Essentially there is no difference in the New OEM and our New Compatible cartridges. It is against Federal Law for the Equipment Manufacturer to require you to use their Cartridges, or to provide a lower level of support or service if you do use Compatible Cartridges.
